this is one of those rare moments (at least for me) when i admit i got tricked by the hype
i actually wrote a review for this anime and called it a masterpiece, an unparalleled anime
i'm actually embarrassed for writing that so i deleted it, i rarely change my mind, once i call something garbage, it remains garbage, this anime was an exception
it's time to review it now with clearer mind as many years has past
so the first 5 episode of this anime is simply a masterpiece, that hasn't changed, i would go to say it is the best episodes and start in any show i
...
have seen perhaps, you immediately capture the story, the corruption of the hospital is shown and...
everything was great, the show begins to slow down and every now and then we see tenma training (for killing Johan), we have episodic episodes which i didn't care about but didn't mind too, then our first real encounter will Johan Happens in episode 26, the "apple scene" where he talks in a way to show the beauty to the semi-blind old man, it wasn't impressive to me but nothing too bad either, i loved his relationship with children, how he talks to them, is around them and why he is around them, this was perfect, the scene when he is in the library and looks at the top of the shelf and the suspense little soundtrack starts is genius writing (he is figuring out where tenma will hide to shoot him), they are SHOWING how his genius work, this is not easy to do, then the moment comes, tenma is about to shoot at the top of the shelf, Johan looks at him and before tenma shoots he is stopped by robert, this is okay since johan knew he is there
more about this location is when johan is about to come on scene and that angelic music is playing, this was so good and beautiful, then it's the fire scene
the is the first real bad moment, Tenma doesn't shoot, anna also yells no i want to shoot him
this is really embarrassing, tenma is yelling "NO, anna, don't shoot him" as johan literally walks past him, this was so fucking DUMB, it makes no sense, anna missing the shots is bs as well, also why is johan not running? if you are that nihilistic then there is no reason to plan so carefully, him caring so little about his life is a bs too, he says not all lifes are equal which is what i agree with him on, this pointing to his head stuff makes me wonder, is his life less worth than others to him? if so why? he is more smarter, beautiful than other people so what is it that makes his life worth less than that of tenma? how does johan evaluates it? i don't think the show answers this
we move past this stupid moment and then we have anna saying to tenma that johan has spilt personality disorder and this never is brought up again, like what? we also have a stupid therapy session with anna where she is trying to kill that psychologist!
then we have that amazing scene where johan is talking to the child and themes of nihilism is brought on again and eventually we get to the last episode
and you know what happens, tenma, NO the show itself is telling us that "we will rather to die than to answer the question", johan has a gun to a child's face and tenma still doesn't pull the trigger
here is a genuine question, is there any retard who actually thinks it's wrong to shoot johan? what is the show's message exactly? i mean we see at the end, johan escaped and you know he is gonna kill again
the sad thing is, if the ending was tenma actually shooting but johan survives and then tenma saves his life, that ending i could get behind, because now we are talking about jail, the reason tenma started this whole thing is because johan didn't even exist to the police, so tenma had to do it himself
this is the classic cowardice of a writer, to leave it "open to interpretation", "to leave it open ended", why? because you are afraid of making a mistake, because you are a coward
so i said "the most disappointing" a lot in reviews, but this is the real, most disappointing show ever, i don't think anything will top this in terms of being disappointing, all because of the cowardice of the author, he wanted to show there is a monster in all of us, yet tenma didn't had one! (well he has which is stupidity which is the biggest plague in this world)

this is bad!, like real bad
i've seen a lot of embarrassing shit when it comes to anime, i've seen so many cowardice in making a decision for the final episode to not upset some viewers, so basically all open-ended garbage shows
this my friend is a new height for cowardice
the show starts with a "dilemma"
do we take the "State/Scientific Sponsored Girlfriend" or do we choose "childhood friend because Eraser exchange in first grade"
Oof this is a hard one guys
so up until the last episode we have some cock tease nonsense, we have "does kissing feel good?" moments, we have "we have to move on
...
but lets kiss now and tomorrow" stuff, you know the usual
then the amazing ending, it's TIME
we have been spending times with both the girls, they cried, we cried, the MC cried, and so did the trap cry in the show, truly emotional stuff, BUT it's TIME, the MC has to decide, the Hard choice has to be made, while the MC is in DEEP stress to whether to choose this cute girl over the other cute girl, both of the girls are together and trying wedding dresses, then the MC has a sudden realization, he finally realizes whether he wants his childhood sweet heart or the pink-clone-version one, he rushes out, he RUNS (symbolic as this is his emotions (rising after the realization of his TRUE desires) top tier stuff guys), he falls but he can't give up, right? he needs to make a decision, the girls are waiting in the wedding dress, the TIME has come, he opens the door, now we get to know the powerful message of the show
who will the Odysseus choose? is it Calypso or Penelope?
is love something that can be chosen for you?
SHUT UP SHUT UP THE SHOW IS ABOUT TO ANSWER SHHHH
the answer is.....wait for it......BOTH OF THEM
when i saw that shit, it was so infuriating that i started laughing, what a bunch of cowards, the fuck was all that running and shit all about then? what was hard about this choice?! the whole reason you are in a tough situation is because you can't have them both, how are the girls okay with this? what the fuck was all that talk about "you need to hurt the people you love" nonsense?!
the MC is such a weakling bitch
very fucking disappointing, what could have been a masterpiece got reduced to such garbage

i admit, i came into this anime with massive negative bias, i expected it to disappoint me, i've seen many high profile 9/10 on MAL (even old ones) like Utena Revolutionary Girl which disappointed me with bad writing and mess of a plot
i was also tricked into believing that this anime is painfully slow which is the total opposite of reality, it is extremely fast paced plot actually (which i love, get to the point mf)
while many of the things i say here are criticisms, the anime is great, it just pissed me off that i couldn't give it a 10
the first episode starts and
...
right away we see Yang vs Reinhard, and there are gazillion names thrown to my face, fortunately i was prepared and started writing the names in an excel to avoid confusion! (it is episode 11, we already have 70 new names in my sheet)
up until episode 11, it was a masterpiece, but there are issues, Reinhard's childhood flashbacks weren't strong, he goes with a gun into the palace and just shoot shit up and guards point a gun at him and his ginger friend takes his hand and they run!! what is this? and he vows to take the universe and the empire under his control like 7 times and each time in the exact same way (he runs, then stops till ginger catches up, looks at him, offers his hand and says "Kircheis" you will help me right?, and ginger boy smiles and takes his hand and the camera just does a long shot and fades into the present leaving that gay shit behind), another issue is Kircheis's reason for following Reinhard, okay i get it, he is in love with his sister but realistically speaking how the fuck is he gonna save her? let alone be with her? at least Reinhard is his brother, we see no interaction between the sister and Kircheis (besides she telling him "good boy" once) to say yeah it makes sense he is going into the army for her sake, nor does he have a strong friendship with Reinhard at the time so we can say he is there because of his friend
compared to Reinhard, Rudulf seems to be the Man, the anime did everything it could to portray him as an absolute evil but that guy is the ONLY Hero of this story, he actually accomplished a noble goal, while everyone ignored crimes and degeneracy on earth this guy came along and used brute force to deal with criminals (the only way to deal with them), and applied eugenics and saved the people, look at Empire and look at alliance, i know for a fact i rather to be born in Empire, a bunch of geniuses and beautiful and talented people, Reinhard has so many talented people in his circle but the alliance only has Yang!, this is all thanks to Rudolf, in anime it was implied that 4 billion people died and i don't see any indians or africans in the Empire which is very tragic, right guys?...guys?
when it comes to Yang, i don't know how i should feel about him, the way he found out about the Empire's plan to attack via Phezzan was out of thin air, and he was so sure that it is the case as well, seems like he has read the script or something, nobody can always accurately predict the plan of their enemies like that, also the idea that Yang captured the forttress without a single drop of blood on his end is fucking bullshit, it's like saying america and china go to war and one side just wins without having a single soldier die, and they don't even use nukes
i was surprised, when yang and Reinhard were in a duel, i expected a nothingburger but the fight was interesting, someone actually lost
after the "peace" period, nothing happened with julian, the whole earth cultist shit was so uninteresting, in fact the fuck is julian doing there? he doesn't belong there, this is not his business, he should be next to yang or something
in episode 70, when Yang is trying to capture the fortress and was sending fake messages, why didn't Thor Hammer work against Yang?! because it was completely hacked?!! bullshit, if they could hack suck a system they would do so in their first try many episode ago, yang doesn't have a team of hackers for them to hack a government weapon with such ease, they couldn't even reset it?!! does Yang has firmware zero day? lol
btw when the Yang gang were hiding in the astriat belt, and the empire had difficulty navigating among the moving stones, they simply could drop missile nukes near the enemy to either kill the enemies or drive the stones away from the area?, just saying
from a preaching standpoint, Yang is so pathetically ideologically captured, this is insane since Reinhard should be the ideologically capture, the democratic rule sold out Yang and tried to kill him and his friend but all he has to say to the efficiency of Empire is that "muh democracy" without any further argument, he keeps saying in democracy people have the power but he never goes beyond it for some reason, that's enough for him!, of what benefit is this "people having the power"? he never answers this, his friend asks "what if most people vote for a dictator?" he never answers this, as someone who hates democracy even i felt irritated!, there were room to even bring the contradictory nature of liberal democracy mentioned by Carl Schmitt but Yang has no answer, yet he keeps killing people left and right! he even let Reinhard "win" their battle because his superior sold his country and he was looking so fucking smug while lecturing Rosen Ritter on "if you kill your enemies they win" Bullshit, it is so hard to fucking sympathize with him, he decided to retire after empire's victory, now due to circumstances he had to fight again but Reinhard told him i will not harm you and compensate you and your friends for the mistreatment your own government applied to you yet he refused! the strongest counter argument he ever gave to Lohengramm was ok you are the good guy but there is no grantee the next dude will be as good as you after you die, this was the only valid argument he ever gave
also can we talk about how stupid yang's death was? the entire empire and it's extremely talented admirals couldn't reach him without massive sacrifice and cost yet some schizophrenic retard managed to not only find which ship yang is in, but also pass the barriers and realize that some of the empire members were on their way to talk to yang so they managed to find some emire militery clothe and disguise themselves and enter a ship that wasn't sufficiently guarded even though yang was there!!!!!! ,like dude, the writers should have just have someone in the yang's military to kill Yang out of fear or resentment or personal vendeta or to appease and stop the war against the empire, either of these thing would have been more believable that what happened there, it was so sad that i felt fucking nothing when he died, i was actually just sad for his wife at that moment ,what's more annoying is somehow those idiots somehow managed to actually threaten the pregnant wife of Reinhard!! in the new capital of Empire (phezzan), like that just not possible i'm sorry, it's like saying the wife of george bush was killed in Washangton DC while he was attacking iraq but on a galaxy level worse
let's talk about julian as that fucker annoys me, so near the end after yang is dead, he basically ended up initiating an attack against empire because "GUYS! COME ON! do we want Kasier Reinhard von Lohengramm The Unequal Genius to look down upon us?!!!", imagine starting a fucking battle against the most powerful entity in galaxy when your doom is certain if that entity comes at you with enough force (not even full force), again this anime keeps every now and then say "if this was a cartoon that guy would magically survive" but in no reality, no one is dumb enough to fight Reinhard especially since he is ignoring you, fucking live your life you dumb bitch
if you ask me the most likable character is Hildegard von Mariendorf, that tomboy girl won my heart, such beauty and talent ,(although she is way to passive, the writers should have made her more ambitious for battlefield, every time she gives advice is for peace) i know the anime is trying to make Reinhard as unearthly as possible which is why he isn't that fascinated by her at first but come on, nobody can keep their cool around such a woman, also such a shame i expected more from Oberstein, to do something crazy but he didn't, they said Oberstien was just a secretive person but keeping certain information (like Lang's connection to the terror) is not being mere secretive, this is betrayal which is weird since i think he tried to shield Reinhard when he was about to be killed but the red hair boy did it sooner, so what is this contradiction? Frederica Greenhill is the waifu of this series as well such cutie, and of course Reinhard von Lohengramm, without him this world wouldn't have the sparke it has, he is the center, so much so that he steals the scene even when Hilde was next to her, there was only one death that got me emotional (which i didn't expect) and that was Reuental, i didn't like this character at first but the way he dies is so weird, this is one of those rare irrational choices on behalf of an intelligent person that you will end up sympathizing with, obviously it would have been the right choice to tell Reinhard that he didn't betrayed him and he is being set up but he didn't do it, he didn't want to go through the humiliation again, AGAIN this was a dumb and irrational choice but it fits his ego perfectly, his death was tragic
besides this, i loved the design, some of the characters are exceptionally beautiful, Jessica is really elegant
btw this anime makes the galaxy space fight interesting, i couldn't help but remember leluoch from code gayass and his fight with his brother and how fucking dogshit it was compared to this anime
also GOD BLESS the writers, if Reinhard in the last episode would have simply accepted constitutionalism, that would literally destroy his character, it made me so relieved they didn't fuck him up, he remained loyal to his philosophy till the end

so Ranma!
nothing logical happens in this anime
from a enjoyment perspective i had my share with this anime but the flaws were too much
the first episode is a great start but unfortunately the comedy is a mere "punch the dude and call him baka" and other humiliation rituals and at the end of it have the guy apologize for being an idiot
honestly Akane didn't worth it, she is a pos, because of her i couldn't help but to take this anime seriously and view it less like a mere comedy after all how can you laugh at the face of someone you despise
my favorite character is
...
Girl-Ranma, if she didn't exist i would drop this dogshit in episode 2 but even so her role in this anime is not clear, i can't believe i have to spell it out for these writers, have her to attend an all girl school or a job where it pays high but only to women, that way she can have a meaningful existence in the show, she is basically the second or third important character, isn't it weird that if we delete her from the show it makes zero impact?
the best girl was Shampoo (the Amazon girl), looks better, is loyal, can fight, decides to fight her own sisters for him, even went as far as buying that soap... if it was me i wouldn't let akane to gain her memory, i also liked Ukyo as well, holy shit now that i think about it i liked that black rose girl more than akane, that's how annoying she is, she even is in love with her sister's lover! why did the writers thought ranma and this girl is a good match? wait why did her father thought it is a good match?!
despite being the MC, i didn't like him, he can't stand his ground in serious conversation and has a white knight complex, keeps getting super jealous over akane to the point of humiliating himself in front of her again and again but keeps kissing and hanging around other girls like a (Chad? or retard?) his relationships with all the girls remain ambiguous throughout the show
the ryoga's "where am i?" joke wasn't funny even the first time, let alone the 200th time
also the other two sisters are totally useless
the episode where ranma suddenly switches "main gender identity" was very good, it was episode 49 if i remember correctly, it unintentionally felt serious (more than it should) as how ranma-girl was genuinely upset
one thing that was missing was ranma-girl and akane having a different relationship with each other than ranma-boy and akane, i thought this would be the case since akane says she hates boys at the start of the anime
that old bastards was funny too, stealing women's panties! i couldn't help but to read the reast of it from the manga as the anime doesn't cover everything till the end, there is a chapter where ranma falls in love with ryoga!, that's way too funny, i suggest everyone to read that at least if not everything

extremely great manga
but not a 10/10
the issues and bad executions:
1- the main character clearly saw his mother pushing the boy, i don't mind the gaslighting but a mere 2 panel of the mother denying it, isn't gonna cut it (it's like saying "the hero and the villain fought and the hero won, the end!")
2-after she says "this whining bitch isn't my son" in court, there is no justification for the son to be mistaken that his mother might still love him, nor any justification to want her love anymore, it's over so for the rest of the story i really couldn't relate to him, his
...
mother is clearly evil and that's the issue why say "i'm finally free, thank god!" in court when few panels before she was crying and searching in the street to find his beautiful boy?! this is a contradiction in storytelling not a contradiction in her emotional feelings toward him, if in the court she would try to protect him or something similar, maybe it would have made a lot more sense (the real reason it's a 9 and not a ten is because of this)
3-i appreciate the girlfriend wasn't a way to save him and a tool for happy ever after ending but him "choosing his own mom" over her was stupid, it would have been so much better if he would stay away from her so her mother doesn't bother her, also i didn't like the "we kissed and i cum" part, like was that necessary? like i'm sorry if you are writing a masterpiece don't reduce it to hentai, this is either a psychological horror featuring a son and his relationship with her mother or a (yandere, reverse NTR, shota, milf) hentai, take your pick
4-after dropping him when he was a BABY, she goes to check up on him and i still would have bought it if she looked concern like "wtf did i just do" but she says "pffff... whatever let's go home so i think about giving you pork or bean for breakfast"!
5-i hate everyone in this story besides the mother and the boy and the girlfriend for being "pure type", they has zero depth whatsoever, his "friends" are just "yeah we are the bullies haha the bully face haha", BUT TO BE FAIR maybe the author was thinking why wast time on secondary characters? let's just focus on the prize and not waste anybody's time WHICH I GREATLY APPRECIATE but this is still laziness "i pushed you hahaha", this keeps getting repeated again and again and again, like sorry, this is annoying
6-maybe someone thinks this is a mere story and there is no moral message here but unfortunately there is one, should we really close our eyes to the evils she does because "she had a rough time"?? like buddy, news flash, we all have rough time, it's not an excuse to torture your children, so i don't get why he takes care of her when she is old, is this what we are supposed to do with such a mother? in real life you don't heal you scars at the end of the chapter and be peaceful, you just learn to live with them, the psychological damage is done, and nobody ever truly "heals", you just learn to live with it
this is still a 9/10 for me, these are ALL the issues for a 150 Chapter manga, so it did fairly good for such a story, i really loved the character of the mother, it does worth reading it

You’ve probably heard it before:
“A masterpiece that inspired generations of strong female characters. A philosophical giant in anime that challenged gender norms…”
Whenever I see praise that over-the-top, I get suspicious. Usually, good feminist stories get criticized even by feminists for being too real, too messy. But this? This had the glow of untouchable “progressiveness,” which to me is a red flag.
And sure enough, by episode one, I had my doubts confirmed.
Utena shows up in a boys’ uniform (kind of), dunks on the entire male basketball team, and defeats a trained swordsman with a wooden sword — all while winning ownership of
...
a mysteriously submissive minority girl who barely talks. The girl literally lives to serve whoever beats her master in combat. Symbolism? Sure. But also pretty damn weird.
If your world is built on the idea that women are oppressed, but then the main character is a woman dominating men left and right, then what oppression are we talking about? How can there be a patriarchy in a setting where the lead girl crushes every man in her path with zero consequences?
Utena wants to be a prince, but… she’s already stronger than every prince around her. The show tries to be deep about this, but it ends up looking more like a contradiction than a subversion.
A better feminist character is someone like Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables, or Judy from Zootopia — characters who face resistance, grow through it, and earn their place. Utena just shows up already elite.
The middle chunk of the series is padded with “duel of the week” episodes — random students challenging Utena to win back the so-called Rose Bride, as if she’s some kind of Pokémon. There’s incest-coded storylines, emotionally unstable characters, and symbolism that often comes at the cost of any believable dialogue or plot logic.
There’s a scene where Utena starts wearing a dress. Her friend asks, “What’s this?” Utena says, “This is normal.” Her friend shouts, “No, baka, this isn’t normal for you!”
And I’m just sitting there like: Was this line written by a Twitter thread?
Later, we find out the prince Utena idolized is kind of trash, and the Rose Bride character flips loyalty the moment Utena loses — which undercuts any emotional bond the show was trying to build. But again, symbolism over substance. It wants to say something, but it forgets to show it in a way that makes sense.
By the final stretch, things go full chaos mode. There’s taboo-breaking content (which I guess was edgy in 1997), awkward relationships, and plot twists that seem more interested in shocking the audience than making a point. Episode 38 tries to wrap it all in some kind of moral about agency and love, but it lands like a brick in a swimming pool.
Final thoughts:
Utena tries to be profound and progressive, but it ends up being clumsy and pretentious. the show wants to be respected for its ideas without actually earning that respect through coherent storytelling. For a series that preaches revolution, it sure feels stuck in its own symbolism.

this is a sad sad day
i wish i would have never have to say this about a Re:Zero series but man what a garbage this was
this series started well, up until episode 8 it was fine, subaru was in suffering and stuff
but after the delay in airing the animation, it somehow became the worst fucking thing you could have think of
the fight with regulus was so fucking bad, he is the strongest enemy and couldn't kill or pose ANY difficulty for subaru?!!! not even once?! the only difficulty for subaru was ski on ice part!!
the way they find out about his lion's heart and weakness
...
was so bullshit, subaru realized it from mere "little king" title, that yeah, he stops time and shit even though his wives don't know about this power!!
how the fuck did subaru find out reguluse's wives are tied to his heart?
it could have been so easy to handle this
for example make regulus to not go too far away from his wives, this would give the clue that the wives are more than sex slaves but no, subaru just find that out, out of thin air
the motivational speeches are fucking pathetic and we get around 16 of them in this fucking anime, like dude we are here to see subaru in pain and agony, who the fuck do you think the target audience is?!
again, so fucking disappointing, Re:Zero was famous for keeping you on the edge of your seat but this one simply make me not care

i typed top 10 philosophical anime, this name came up so i thought let's give it a shot
i'm not sure this is the case but it seems like this anime is inspired by Martin Heidegger
there were themes of "thrownness or falling in the world", "anxiety from existing", "care", "guilt",...
it can't be a coincidence, the Haibane is a symbol of Dasein
the anime captures the theme okay but unfortunately the story isn't that great because the dialogues are trash, it the same old unnatural conversations you hear when empty characters talk, "i believe in reki", "reki is reki, isn't it reki?!!"
again, you can get tricked by thinking
...
this anime is great because it has philosophical topics but it is a fucking ANIME
the priority is story-telling, it's character development, which we don't really have in this anime
the guilt rakka feels isn't really felt by us about existing and being useless, rakka is a horrible character, an actual NPC, nothing interesting about her, the only character worth mentioning is Reki, but even she didn't do a great job, it was just okay
this anime reminded me of "Shinsekai yori", in that anime characters got "developed" based on survival, you knew them by how they "reacted", but ultimately they were empty and all of them were the same personality, they are what writers call "character type", you don't see a human, you see a "type", like "angry dude" or "yandere",...
this anime suffers the same thing, the characters are just types, they don't have actual human conversation or reaction
it's funny because before this anime i read Tolstoy's opinion on good art and he mentions that using the world or history of a country that your characters are in, is a form of cheating
for example, if i write a book where the MC lives in Ottoman Empire and instead of focusing on my story, i start by describing how Ottoman culture was back then, i'm cheating, i'm using history to keep you entertained, and this will keep you entertained but not because of my story but because of Ottoman history, it's cheating
the same thing happens more or less in this story
there is this weird wall and how you shouldn't touch it, how you shouldn't talk to those plague mask guys (which the anime never explained why)
these are fascinating world buildings but how do they help with character development, or even the plot?
well, they don't
did the walls have to exist for the story to function? these are random facts that are thrown at us
overall i was watching this bored all the way till the end but it wasn't bad enough for me to drop it
i wanted to give it a 5 but because of trying to be philosophical, i give a 6

what the fuck did i just read?! good prank though, you really played with my emotions really well
there are SOOO many things wrong with this trash of a manhwa
Character Review:
1-Joon (Main Character)
he is a pos, he is leading on 3 girls at the same time which is evil, he also keeps playing with the emotion of his wife by constantly going to concert of his ex-girlfriend
ALSO he constantly is saying "HEY, are you cheating on me with your manager" when he literally keeps hugging and holding hands of other women!! fuck this guy
2-Duna
i hate people who smoke, so right of the bat i hate her,
...
she is portrayed as being "strong independent woman"!! MY ASS
she literally decided to suck the cock of the company that blackmailed her instead of fighting back, she said the lawsuit would cost her gazillion dollars, BULLSHIT, no company even in north korea (the best korea after reading this shit) can do this to you, she decided to ghost his boyfriend for around a year or two instead of sharing the problem so that the two of them can fix it together.
she is a cheating lying evil bitch
i tried to give her the benefit of the doubt because of the lawsuit but in the last page she literally says she could give up her career and join MC but that is not her place and that "he would be happy but i would be miserable", if you choose your career instead of your relationship, you are cheating EXACTLY in the sense as if some richer partner has come to the picture and you chose them, it is cheating and it has to be called that
"you are the most important thing in the world, never forget that joon", "promise me you never leave me", "i will always be by your side", "i'll never leave you","i love you so much"
ALL of these quotes are lies and she knew she is lying at that moment, this is why the story is garbage, this is not the Duna that we knew, no way she says "my fame is more important than him" when we know she is constantly afraid that people are leaving her behind
3-Ira
easily the best girl, she was just a little dumb, why do you keep remaining around this loser of a mc! she truly deserved better, the author did her dirty, she became "replacement" for duna, even when she is trying to have a connection to mc, we keep getting flashbacks of duna! even the author knows this is a bad relationship, so why did the author did this?
all the other characters are horrendously bad or redundant
the author doesn't understand what love is, at all, she thinks love is those moment of excitement you feel in a relationship, the author (it's a female), is mistaking lust and crush and passion for love, most likely because she is an empty loser herself, "i love you so much that's why i have to let you go and chase my career that i was blackmailed into but gods please don't let him get hurt so much"! LOOOL
if you think i'm butthurt because of the "sad ending", think again, i'm currently reading Aeneid by Virgil and i cried my eyes out for "Dido", the Dignified Queen who got destroyed by Venus and how Aeneas was forced to abandon her against his wish, that is a tragedy because it's well built, there is no loophole, this my friends is trash
i see people coping by saying the ending was "realistic", well yes it is realistic because retarded people end up in this situation
this is how it should have ended, she should have informed her boyfriend (just like in the flashback) and then they should have gotten married and have childern just like anne shirly, because the entire story relies on moving forward in a relationship, first it was crush, then kisses, then becoming bf/gf, the next step was obvious but "muh career" was clearly the way to go!

i think it's safe to say AOT didn't handle the character of Eren and the Ending well, it was total shit.
and i don't appreciate the dry humor of the-most-reacted-against reviews on this anime because i think many people are too dumb to get that you are actually mocking the anime by exaggerating it's greatness by saying stuff like "Isayama is a philosopher who went beyond reality".
i'm gonna go full conspiracy theory here, ready?
i think after eren started to become a symbol of a great man who will crush his enemies, the current establishment got afraid and somehow forced Isayama to turn eren into a whiny
...
little bitch who is an incel, eren was becoming the right wing hero, his race was about to go extinct (just like white people) and he crushed those who opposed him
i really think they either give Isayama a huge amount of money to fuck eren up or they threatened him
in short this anime is as bad as the manga, historia's existence meant nothing, annie falling for armin was cringe and...
i also hated how this anime turned into a time travel bullshit, this is about war so solve it in the battlefield
so yeah i hate it
music and opening was truly awful
animation was bad too
this was a complete mess
