Even though one is about hosting and the other is about hairstyling, the characters are so similar in their personalities and even character designs.. (Ochiai is way too similar to Kyouya).  Aside from that they're both lighthearted comedy romance stories that have fun twists. If you really liked Ouran you defenitely have to check out Beauty Pop... you won't be disappointed!

Stoic females leads asked to join the male-only clubs at their high schools that specially cater to the female students. Both are really funny, and though the characters share similarities they are definitely not clones of each other which makes both of them worth the read.

Both stories are of a 'reverse harem' nature.  But while Ouran has a 'Host Club' about making girls happy by ways of acting romantical, in Beauty Pop they have a 'Scissors Project' club to make girls happy by giving them a new outward appearance; haircut, manicure and makeup styles.  
Both stories are captivating and intriguing, making you interested in what adventures will take place for these popular clubs.  Both of the female leads are intelligent and somewhat blunt, but romance comes along for both of them along the way. It happens lot faster in Ouran than in Beauty Pop, but it is very enjoyable either way. read more

Very similar type of main girl and also similar type of guys. The situation's the same too. It's a reverse harem with one girl being the centre of the boys.

While reading both mangas some points can be distinctly pointed out for example,
-Similar characterization, both the protagonists have a coherent and ‘I don’t give a damn’ attitude and rest of the characters are also very similar be it humorous, hyper or just plain evil.
-Both the male protagonists are rich and start their own wacky yet popular club. They also ‘rise above’ their own superiors like parents or grandparents.
 -The comical fathers with their never-ending teasing.
-Both female Protagonists are brave yet they are scared of trivial things like the 'thunder' or ‘cockroaches’.
-They both have Clubs that makes an impact on majority of the female population of the school
Overall, it seems that both of the manga have an almost similar plot line (albeit the fact that “Beauty Pop” concentrates on hairstyling more) however, both manga have their own unique way of showing the sentiments. This lighthearted romantic comedy in many ways resembles “Ouran High School Host Club" with times that make you want to laugh real hard, times that put you in the edge, times that makes you all teary and not to mention the overwhelming feeling of love and friendship that comes around in the later chapters.

The SP team members are just the same as in Ouran. Both mangas shere the same feeling - you just smile all the way during reading it.

Well...I have to say, the two resemble each other in a lot of ways. They're both very enjoyable series. Both heroines are aloof, both heroines are poor. Both male leads are rich, both male leads think highly of themselves. There's also the intelligent black haired, glasses wearing friend of the male lead. I'm sure if you find one series enjoyable, you'll like the other.

Ouran Koukou Host Club and Beauty Pop are most similar in their lovable group of eccentric boys and their reserved FL. Both of the FL's are forced/join (I guess the Beauty FL wasn't forced, but it took a lot of convincing) into a club with the schools resident handsome and rich boys. The major differences lie in the main activity of both manga. Ouran Koukou Host Club is about, as the name suggests a host club. Whereas Beauty Pop is about hair dressing and makeovers. Both stories give quite similar vibes when reading while maintaining originality. For example, Ouran Koukou Host Club focuses more on the romance and slice of life aspects, where Beauty Pop has a large focus on competiton. Both having large comedy aspects.  read more

- they both have main characters, who are very confident, both in their personality and there skills.

- both main characters are actually left handet. especially when they use there special skills.

- they both have a lazy father, who train the main  characters to improve there skills.

- Both fathers were professional, but they gave up on their dreams, due to some unknown sercomstances ( sorry, don't know if I misspelled it )

- they both have a team, who compete against other teams.

- both main characters, have a cat, as they both love very much.

The female main character cuts the male main characters hair. In both series the boys, dont trust women and afraid that women will hurt but both boys find something special in both female leads. Both are nice shojo reads.

Kitchen no Ohimesama addpermalink

Beauty Pop and Kitchen no Ohime-sama are two very popular shojo manga. I personally love them both, and they have a lot in common. For example, the girl protagonists are both specialists in something {Beauty Pop- Hair Cutting; Kitchen no Ohime-sama- Cooking).  There is also romance between the protagonist's friends.

To Be is more focused on romance, whereas Beauty Pop is focused more on the beauty aspect... but these both share the plot of students striving in a hairstyling world. I think if you like one, you will definitely like the other.

They're both about a talented girl, though Kiri (BP - hairstyling) is more aloof and Ageha (VBR - designing bags, etc.) is more energetic. I like the art in both. 
I also find the male (Narumi in BP, Arisaka in VBR) lead in both quite hilarious. I think if you like one, you'll like the other. =3

Both the main characters don't show their feelings, they're misunderstood by people (ex: Kiri is actually really good at cutting hair, while Maria has no bad intenions and just wants friends.) They are also both looked down on by people.

They are also both love triangles. In both stories, one of the guys dislike the girl, but soon comes to like her, while the other guy has always been friendly to her. Both guys are also best friends in both mangas.

Both the girls have also done something wrong to their mom when they were kids.

While Kaikan Styling isn't nearly as entertaining as Beauty Pop, it is similar in its basic theme of beautifying girls. Both manga consist of a group of stylists bent on making girls happier and more confident about themselves. While not everyone may like Kaikan Styling, Beauty Pop is a must read!

Similar characters and feeling.
Kiri is a very similar character to Shizuku in that both of them are 'emotionless' but they are really good at what they do.
Yamaken is a very similar character to Narumi in their attitudes towards the main girl. They also wonder why they like the girl in the first place, because she isn't all that cute. The main girl is oblivious to their feelings.
There is also some family drama, and the mother of the main girl is away from home working in both cases.

Both girls are kind at heart.  Both boys are rough around the edges.  Fruits basket is about a family curse and not so much about competitions or making others pretty.  Their storylines are different, but still they will remind you of each other.

story-wise both of these are very different. Beauty pop is about a girl named kiri getting involved with the "Sp", scissors project. Whereas Beast Master is about a girl who meets a beast-like boy and isn't frightened by his looks and gets to know him. Even if both of these stories are way different you get the same feeling while reading them and they are both very light-hearted and sweet mangas. There's a bit of romance in Beauty pop but if you want more of a cute and innocent love story I'd suggest Beast Master =)

Hana Adachi gets people together regardless of whether they like each other or not, and Shinagawa Daichi likes a girl who he does not realize is Hana Adachi. In Beauty Pop, the same thing happens, and it is also entertaining to read. May not be up the level of this manga, but yo'll probably like it.
