@Mr_Sai there are some chapters which they didn't adapted in season 2. But I checked on a thread of season 2 that it's not the case and they are rearranging the chapters. And I guess those left chapters are going to be adapted in season 3

@Mr_Sai chapters are skipped because of budget Your budget allows 12 eps for example or 50 eps you need to plan how to use the budget and allocate resources But when you have high budget and you waste it on animating action scenes when the manga is not even an action manga so reducing the quality of fights for the sake of adding more episodes is better in my opinion I am not watching ranma to get goosebumps i am watching it for the “slice of life”, comedy and mainly the plot

@UaEfAlCoN83 they already said that every decision is taken each year so they have not planned to realize X episodes. If now they are able to make better "sakuga episodes", it means that the project is succesfull and they are confidant to make enough episodes for a good adaptation AND some of the with higher quality.

UaEfAlCoN83 said: chapters are skipped because of budget Not necessarily. It's more about time in this case. The Remake of Urusei Yatsura is an anniversary project for the 100th years of Shogakugan, and it was officially said they wouldn't adapt everything as the production would need a decade or so, so they went with a collection of the best moments. Ranma 1/2 is the following of that project and takes the opportunity to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Rumiko Takahashi at the same time. Anyway, fights always were a big aspect and a major theme of Ranma 1/2, that Takahashi wanted to make a story around of after liking Jackie Chan's movies, and the director has the opportunity to make them visually good. That's all. |

@deg Nah, Netflix wants the full season early (s1 was leaked in August) so at least the first episodes should be done. Note that the material shown in the trailer will be cover in one or two episodes
@Fork95 they might reuse the scenes on the trailer as sakuga scenes but i doubt if the whole episodes will look like that but if im proven wrong then better

For those who misses the info, they hired Astuko Ishida as main animator to adapt the chara design in move. She was the main animator on the second part of the old series (she is still a recurrent animator For studio Deen). So this season is going to look way more like the old series. Especially later part were the characters have very big eyes (it's Ishida design signature)

I love Ranma, but the manga had a lot of stuff that felt very filler-y. If they prioritize the biggest moments and forward momentum when making this anime, I'll be happy. Not only will it make the anime more watchable, it'll also give me more to look forward to if I ever decide to continue the manga (I fell off about halfway through).

@RainyEvenings The shishihoukoudan fight was almost entirely one-sided on Ryouga's end, what do you mean lol Ryoga mopped the floor with Ranma with his own power (which escalated with his depression) like 3 times before Ranma barely won using a dirty trick. And I'm pretty sure it isn't the only arc where Ryoga gives him a hard time to defeat in the manga (there's an arc he literally cannot be defeated and Ranma needs to help him be defeatable again because of a ridiculous drawing in his belly making him pretty much the strongest at the price of dignity and potentially being uncovered as P-chan). This next fight also was pretty hard on Ranma, too, because this is when Ryoga becomes an utter tank of resilience

@RainyEvenings Ryoga literally wins 3 times in that arc, And Ranma barely wins the fourth rematch, I'm sure that counts in your book. You were saying these were one-sided too, when Ranma actually struggles with Ryoga quite a few times, as I mentioned. Sometimes he literally can't even win, the belly drawing arc Ryoga has to self sabotage to the best of his ability for Ranma to even connect a punch (by then he spent a long while losing more times than he ever won a fight against Ryoga, too)

@Fork95 The issue is not just 1/24. The Happosai episode was meant to be 3 episode following the adaptation speed. And the season 2 skip also ton of chapter. And there was also censorship in season 1. For the issues of the original series. Until the new series start manage to reach where the old series finished, it's not an issue. Because at the rate where the new series progress and how much season 2 made poor performances on Netflix, original content in anime will not be before 2030 and there is a big risk for the series to be cancelled before. For Akane, I don't think she was mischaracterized. And for the drop of drawing quality in nettohen, yeah, but even with this quality drop. Nettohen visual are far from bad. In fact it's better than series like Naruto, bleach (original series), One Piece before wano or Dragonball super. Nettohen can compete with a long time running shonen from early to mid 2010's (original series is nearly at same level than first season of the new one).

@Mr_Sai chapters are skipped because of budget
Your budget allows 12 eps for example or 50 eps you need to plan how to use the budget and allocate resources
But when you have high budget and you waste it on animating action scenes when the manga is not even an action manga so reducing the quality of fights for the sake of adding more episodes is better in my opinion
I am not watching ranma to get goosebumps i am watching it for the “slice of life”, comedy and mainly the plot

@Bhanu_LAW_196K1A Lol what kind of solution is that Each one has its own enjoyment What I am against is having scenes that clash with the main theme of the anime/manga or a scene that contradicts itself For example, a serious scene should never have random jokes … you are basically killing the seriousness and at the same time the joke will not be appreciated much If you have 6 panels where two characters fight why would you extend these panels to 24 minutes? They clearly want to promote the anime to people who love action when the anime is not about action Budget should be used wisely… if these was snk or jjk or whatever sure spending money on action or on backgrounds makes sense
