| The chemistry Aine and Mio have can be compared to Idol Time's Yui and Lala. The ED song is beautiful to say the least, although the performance visually was a step down Aikatsu Stars same with their outfits although I see them getting better eventually. Aine's family has everything including two female wota and a penguin. |

| I think Aine has a terrible singing voice...the OP and insert song are hard to listen to. Love Me Tear is great, though. |
| there's certainly parallels between Ichigo and Aine. Ichigo's bento shop and Aine's Penguin Cafe. just like Ichigo, Aine uses a pink coord. interestingly, Mio uses a blue coord (just like Aoi). as for the episode itself, i really enjoyed it. there's no unnecessary melodrama (cough aikatsu stars cough yume falling after her first stage and getting into a comma cough). the performance was actually pretty good for a first stage. the performance animation was better than the first performance in the original aikatsu, but that is expected. aikatsu stars season 2 felt a little bit shounen-ish (it came to a point, the idols had to achieve ultimate rarity cards to remain relevant. this also shows in the last episode) thankfully, it seems like Friends will (hopefully) avoid that route. |

| Consistency is my biggest concern at this point in the franchise. The destruction of the seiyuu/singer split is wonderfully refreshing in that regard, yet overdue. (rip Kokone) The OST is beautiful as always, well done. Looking forward to more~ |

| I haven't watched the first Aikatsu anime. (I just don't have no patience for 178 episodes even if I do end up enjoying the series), but I wanted to give this a try since I really did want to get into the franchise and I really like this so far! |

| Watching this weekly from now on as it's ongoing is going to feel so weird. Really like Mio's design,Aine's not so much but it'll grow on me. Thought "Aikatsu Friends" was an okay song but rather underwhelming especially in comparison to Idol Activities and Aikatsu Step which were my favorite songs of their respective series. Agree with megmica the one million friends thing is a rather weak motive,what good is one million friends if the friendship is shallow. |

| This was so good. I'm glad that they've gone back to their roots as Aikatsu, though it was a different start than usual. (Masquerade are still there and all.) I hope this lasts longer than Stars did. |
| I'm not even done with the original Aikatsu yet and I'm already really happy to see that the fun will keep going for a long time! I had a blast with this first episode, Aine and Mio are so nice. | This will be my first Aikatsu series, i tried the first one but then it just got into the on hold hell might continue it someday though the episode was sorta, slow, I like more fast paced show but slow shows can be nice too if they are executed well enough but i heard Aikatsu can be a bit difficult when it comes to story pacing, so...who knows Mio was cute but Aine was sorta boring, sure the friendbook thing was sorta unique but besides that she didn't really show any character The song was, ok, the dance was cute but the actual music was eeeeeeh 3/5 |
| I have seen every Aikatsu episode and movie up to this point and while I enjoyed the episode, the characters are getting more and more generic and less likable with each installment. |

And she got a good voice. I think she will become one of my faves *EDIT* Azusa Tadokoro is Karen's seiyuu. Im not surprised if her singing voice is good XD |

| I'm not a huge fan of idol culture (its a love-hate relationship) and idol anime is just something I try to stay away, yet after I herd Identity and people bashing on the Bunny Parade coord (I'm not into Aikatsu and yet I love that coord. Being in the weird side of J-Fashion is the reason.), I.. Got curious and finally decide to watch it, to see the sweet sweet development of these two girls! I think its a alright start for a young shojo anime. Now I can't wait to see Karen x Asuka. (Fite me!) |

| people are blasting this show for having a weak "i want to make 1,000 friends" premise. i think there's some confusion between the series plot and the main character's wishes. if anything, it seems like Aikatsu Friends is borrowing from Pripara - remember Lala's motto: みんな友達、みんなアイドル (everyone's a friend, everyone's an idol!). it's interesting to note that while Aikatsu Friends borrowed from Pripara, Pri☆Chan (the sequel to idol time pripara) did away with mascots entirely (much like how there's no mascots in Aikatsu). in a way, it seems like the two series were inspired by each other. |

| Here I am for my first Aikatsu series, and I'm fairly new to idol anime in general so this should be interesting. I was drawn in by the colorful art style, especially in a season where the art is so bland and mediocre for 95% of the shows. For the record, if you've never had a sandwich with a slab of parmesan cheese, some fresh basil, and a slice of tomato, IT IS REALLY GOOD. I'm not sure if it's because I haven't seen much of the series or because I lack a general knowledge of idol tropes, but I was lost in a few places. Aikatsu is a verb???? The outfits are on clothes and you earn them with your mad idol skills??? Magical girl changing but not actually magical girls??? I'm not totally sure what is happening but I can roll with it. |

But I guess if cards and fans count as friends...sure XD I wish Love Me Tear had better dresses. For dresses symbolizing the /top/ of the Aikatsu world, they don't look that special. At first glance they look more like rares than premium/best friend rares. The CG in this series is amazing - it is so close to the normal animation style. | This will be my first Aikatsu series. I liked the first episode a lot. The bond between Aine and Mio is already strong and heartwarming. :) Their performance was beautiful. That penguin is cute.  |

Stars and Friends made a nice addition to the franchise, but the original 178 episode is still by far incomparable to any animoe I've ever watched. |
| The OP and the ED are quite weak from the first impression. They still keep the tradition of cute and cool pairing (thus pink and blue coord dress). It's really weird to see a lot of cgi being used in the ED and it doesn't look good at all. I kind of expect Aine in some way failing during the concert since she isn't an idol at start. Bento/ food shop tradition still run at least. I like how the fitting room is somewhat a reminiscent of the OG where the idol running in straight line also with that soundtrack on the background is very similar too but remix. But the entering the card portal gets even weirder and complicated than previous incarnation. |

| Only 1 episode in, and I like it more than Aikatsu. Let's see if I can enjoy this as a CGDCT show for the other 49 episodes, and not disappoint me like Aikatsu did. |
