what do you mean Manga Canon Bruh? From now on, They won't make any Fillers or Anime Canon bullshit anymore. Now Boruto will be also a Seasonal anime like Bleach, One Piece and Black Clover

Was it officially decided ? Last news i saw, they were considering it, but they were not sure yet. Also, going seasonal does not exclude the possibility of filler/Anime Canon, even if it does remove its usefulness. If it's yearly, they might add Anime Canon to pad.

Boruto is a special case, because both the Anime and Manga were developped together (like, as a multi-media project rather than a Manga and its future adaptation), but as the Manga is monthly, they have to keep it light and direct to not fall behind the Anime. So there is subplots/arc that are written by the original author of Boruto exclusively for the Anime to avoid that, which is what's labelled as "Anime Canon" by fans. On top of that, there is also straight fillers episodes, wrote by the staff of the studio.

I didn't read Two Blue Vortex, but i'm sure they would be capable of adding padding everywhere. There is still the last quarter of Next Generation left to adapt beforehand, tho.

As for the airing process, did they explain in more details ? All i've seen that has been said is that they are considering going seasonal, in an interview with the president of Pierrot. If they do not go seasonal, or if they do but yearly, they will quickly catch up to the Manga again. Bleach is a different case, the Manga was completed, for years already.

@Alexioos95 No "seasonal" nor "weekly" exists, as upon searching japanese broadcasting stations documentations all has been said only about broadcasting rules, file metadata, audio among other things which pre 2010s sponsors era produced anime were already by definition seasonal not only did they used default timeslot natural hiatuses if daytime (7 to 18 jst) having default 7 weeks breaks off air plus pre emptions as an buffer thus airing 42-45 eps per year (fewer without fully outsorced filler arc acting as massive hiatuses buffers) or near night time (19 19 30 jst) *which naruto was broadcasted in* having default 12 weeks break off air plus pre emptions as an buffer therefore broadcasting less than 39 eps per year fewer without fully outsorced filler arcs whom naruto weaponized this timeslot chaotic beauty so much so, to the point of airing double 20m specials to smoothly finish story segment without forced cliffhanger then going on two weeks break which covered thanks to it 3 to even SIX chapters in an single broadcasting block while using fully outsorced filler arcs acting as massive hiatus buffers so the main team could work ahead on the main team would work on the next canon arc which was already deep in the production even further thus upon returning, not only having episodes on avg 3 to 4 months or if high priority episodes 5 to even 9 months depending on major story segment, having massive 1.5-2 year behing the manga gap but whenever such anime were returning from these massive hiatus buffers they always had promotional materials, key visuals, literal PVs for the next canon arc, canon arc based specific OSTs, episode director staff rotation, series director changes which even brouto own PVs on code arc, kara arc are the perfect textbook proof examples of it.


Furthermore, "padding" reasoning is also false as not only myself read the manga but every chapter is monthly being 44 pages long thus equilavent of 2.5 weekly chapters each which has more than enough of source material to cover per episode while adding some anime original/expanded scenes also is normal to every adaptation because they are not strictly original but simply re staging the original content to fit the medium better as they are entirely two different mediums from each other with different philosophies how the staff convey the scenes in the medium them operates in.

edit: Also, it depends on the manga density itself as almost all manga are not necesarily text heavy at the same time like kingdom, detective conan, modern one piece they are still dense/very dense to extremely dense when it comes to material per 19 pages chapters via medium-small sized panels per page hybrid thus producing 90+ medium-small sized panels across 19 pages chapters let alone series having small panels per page thus producing 100+ panels across 14 pages chapters... I'm looking at ya modern one piece, which some series may cover 3.5-5 chapters whom already filled entire 20m timeslot but most only can cover 1.5-2, 2.5 chapters for even action chapters due to sheer density of the content therefore filling entire 20m runtime thus having barely any duration just to fit one or two very brief anime original/expanded scenes to the point of removing scenes here and there albeit nothing game changing but still noticeable, even streamlining aka scene shortener occasionally just to fit 20m episode duration, hence why more and more anime to cover everything utilizes entire 25m duration by removing OP/ED songs just for these examples or some anime figured out model to have effective pacing even at breakneck pace such as toei piece having 12-14m actual episode via 5m recap lasting up until episode title is shown, longer title cards alongide openings including previews which makes the actual episode covering 1 post vol 60 chapter per 12m episodes more than enough amount of content adapted being break neck pace considering when converting such 1 chapter per 12m episodes to standard 20m equals 2 chapters which is massive amount of content when it comes to second half of one piece manga series.

I feel seasonal would be a good way to go,

The end of nng could become one seasons, first 12/13 chapter of tbv could become 2nd season.(Extending that one fight which was mentioned to happen durinf timeskip but wasn't shown fully)

The next 12/13 chapter which covers another arc could possibly be 2nd season of tbv the sand village one


The third season of tbv could end prob at the cliffhanger of latest chapter

Thats how I see they can go if they go seasonal.

@mahi1609 Here's the thing, myself specifically stated above that "seasonal" nor "Cour" do not exists within the industry as by definition all anime were already seasonal by using those timeslot hiatuses, considering boruto nng part 2 very most likely airs at 00 30 jst at tv tokyo rather than 18 30 jst daytime slot, then overall will arcs without interruptions thanks to such timeslot's no competition thus airing 13 eps 3 months then going on clean 4 to 12 months of break, as them uses same pre 2010s model but cleaner.

But the release date of anime is something that I am a bit concerned about,

To think that not even a proper key visual has dropped for boruto with the anime reaching 39 months of hiatus makes me feels that boruto might now have been studio pierrot priority for the past few years.

Although,there are leaks by a popular leaker online about the release date of 4 naruto 20th anniversary episodes being in fall this year, there has not been an official confirmation yet

For information those leaks were posted by that particular relaible leakker back in end of dec 2025

Now just 3 months are left for fall so i expected it to get confirmed but it didn't til now.

The official updates and developments on the animation side of the franchise has been standstill for 3 years

Edit:I wrote boruto being studio's priority for one reason, cause I have seen numerous post on different social media sites which claim that naruto/boruto has been the top earning franchise for tv tokyo.

And it would only make sense to keep pushing out content for a series which earns one the most
