| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- I was hesitant picking this manga up, Shoujo don't always make the best action adventures however seeing it was a recommendation for Red River I finally was tempted to pick it up. I am glad I did, so far it actually appears to be pretty good, can't wait to see how the plot and setting develop. Also heard the character development is done very well, very promising series after the first chapter. |

| Just this one chapter was almost a whole story on its own. Amazing! I'm truly impressed even now. The start-up setting is so mysterious and quite original. Can't wait to read the next chapter... I hope and I assume it's going to be a stunning manga. |

| So Basara is the spirit of freedom, the origin of the word is from Vajyra and means 'diamond'. The village seer said two babies were the children of destiny but apparently they decided only the boy, Tatara, mattered... The land that's now sand used to be green and full of cities. A great calamity occurred that halted progress. Yeaah misogyny is afoot. Women aren't allowed special honors like men. Sarasa likes blacksmithing but isn't allowed to get involved. Holy shit her own father slapped her just for wanting to touch the beautiful Byakko sword, telling her she was 'tainting it with a woman's touch'. Sarasa's friend Ma-kun sacrificed himself in Tatara's place when the Red King's troops marched through. 😭 She must've felt like she'd lost another thing to her brother. Even still, she can see the burden placed on him to fix everything. The 'last son of the Emperor' was there and tried to kill Sarasa and Kaku-jii, and a character named Ageha who sacrificed his eye for them and has a cute owl. He sensed that Sarasa was a Chosen. I see the enemies to lovers tag and I'm terrified, because the enemy is the Emperor's son and he's way older than her, right? She was a small child when he tried to kill her. And he ruthlessly murdered her friends and family and tried to kill her as a child. It's not going to be him RIGHT?? *scared* |
