Strike the Blood II

Both of these shows follow a similar format and are clearly targeting the same kind of audience. While High School DxD is much more direct and unapologetic with its fanservice, Strike the Blood Season 2 significantly ups the ecchi content, easily surpassing what the first season delivered. Both series are self-aware about their core appeal and attempt to raise the stakes beyond just high school antics; they now include world-building, established power systems, and factional dynamics. Since the main cast around the protagonist is already well-developed, new characters are usually introduced as initial threats, but quickly turn into allies with important roles in the storyline. However, High School DxD’s supporting cast feels more distinct and capable of genuinely challenging Issei, while Strike the Blood keeps the difficulty level in check to ensure Kojou can always come out on top. read more
