Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata ♭

After finally completing the first route of his visual novel, Blessing Software's producer Tomoya Aki is optimistic about the future of his team and achieving their goal of creating the best game of the season.

However, they still have a long way to go. For one, Megumi Katou still has an incredibly flat personality and is unable to fit the role of Tomoya's ideal heroine. The other members of Blessing Software, Eriri Spencer Sawamura, Utaha Kasumigaoka, and Michiru Hyoudou, often forget she is even there due to her lack of presence and character.

Throughout the development of their game, Blessing Software learns the struggles of working in an industry where deadlines must be met and edits are made constantly, and the hardships of working in a group setting.

Absolutely phenomenal.
This anime is a complete story - 2 seasons and a movie (and some specials).
This review pertains to the full show - 2 seasons + movie + specials.

You have to watch all of it for the payoff, but trust me the payoff is absolutely fantastic, and it comes in the movie after season two.
The movie is without a doubt the best romantic anime I have ever watched. (or on par with Kaguya-sama)

It is quite original in my opinion, compared to other romance anime.
How so? Well it actually has plot/focus.
The characters have GOALS - and I mean real goals, whereas in other anime the romance ... is the goal itself, here is different.

While there are some tropes, with the 2 main girls especially - they will perhaps appear like a thousand other anime girls you have seen before. HOWEVER while they do follow established tropes, they are executed almost to perfection (in my humble opinion of course)
While they may not be super deep characters, I enjoyed watching them immensely, I was never bored or annoyed.

Probably the best thing about this anime and what stands out the most is our MC.
He is a man of COMMITMENT AND SHEER FUCKING WILL.
He will not let these hoes seduce him with their feminine wiles. And boy do they try so hard every now and then.
He has a goal, he has a dream, and he will do whatever it takes to achieve it. He may cry and beg for the girls - but not for their affection or interest, but for their actual skills.

Because in this anime, the characters have actual skills. Is it very exaggerated that some random highshoolers are secretly professionals in the manga world? Yes. Does this matter? Not one bit.
They have have goals, in life, they are skilled at what they do, and they care about what they do. Their whole life doesn't revolve around high school drama. How often do you see that in a high school romance anime?

And maybe this is a bit deceitful, as the package in which this anime is presented - high school romance / drama - is not what it actually is. I mean it is that too, but it is so much more.
MC is probably one of my favorites of all time, he is real, he has goals, he has personality, he is definitely eccentric, but he gives 0 shits about that or how other people might view him, and that is respectable.
I promise this is one of the manliest MCs you will ever see in anime. 0 cares of what other people think of him, 100% focus on his own goals. This is a true alpha male.
For the first time in anime history you can actually see why these hot women chase the MC, and why they really like him.

All that I've written so far may seem like exaggeration, or maybe just not that apparent from watching 1 season.
But that is my honest impression after watching the full thing.
And the ending with a full length movie ... I rewatched that movie several times, the romantic scenes in it are just incredible.

Honestly there's not that much romance in the 2 seasons, or rather it is not the focus, and when there is romance it is subtle.
But the movie goes full blown romance/drama in the best way possible.
Trust me go watch this show. This is one of my favorite anime, after 20 years I will still remember it fondly and probably rewatch it.

Mixed Feelings

This second season I quite like, although there are still a lot of harem and ecchi scenes, to the point where I started to get sick of it, but in the middle of the season it started to get better, I don't want to be naive because if it's not like that, this anime won't get an adaptation as fast as this within 2 years of season two coming out, even the movie is only 2 years apart from the release of season 2, because this is for the entertainment of many people, not you dang, so what is judged is the opinion of the ... majority of people, even though I really like eps 8, the best part of this season is eps 8, the quality is also improved, in important parts it is well illustrated, but that's how you can say the genre of this anime according to my personal ecchi 30% harem 30% comedy 30% romance is only 10% but if you don't want to make calculations that use numbers like that, according to me it's just not enough for me to feel, I think it will improve a lot, my comfort watching it is just lacking, what because this got a recommendation from the same friend who recommended in toradora, so my expectations are high, but I still hope in the movie, I don't want to comment much before watching the movie, so I give my overall opinion when I finish the movie, okay I want to continue to the movie and I give my opinion about the whole story of this saekano, is it that good or just ordinary, I will give my opinion later on

Saekano ss2 END. The last few eps are heavy, but the whole movie is boring to watch. It's not much better than ss1. Sometimes it's even more cringe after both ss still don't have much sympathy for senpai. I don't understand why she's having a serious conversation but acting like a prostitute. *i. As for the tsundere, I feel a little more sympathetic than the dev at a temporary level. What I think this series lacks is the inner expression of the character, which makes it difficult for viewers to sympathize, so the characters feel only at a typical level according to 1 In ... short, Mid, especially Megumin, has something special but hasn't been shown much yet. After both seasons, there still isn't a single quality romcom, let alone a love drama, which makes me quite disappointed. Regarding the plot, in my opinion, it's very ridiculous and unnatural, it will make some people cringe, and the fanservice rac doesn't need to be a romcom, but I don't see any funny plot or there are some funny scenes that are so boring. Rom is also light. Personally, I don't recommend this set. In general, I can't enjoy it but some guy keeps raising his balls. 6/10
